Healthy Hearing… What?

February 20 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Do you or a loved one experience frustration from missing conversation and feeling isolated in social situations? Healthy hearing is important to social engagement, improves communication, lowers the risk of depression, is thought to benefit brain function and memory, and creates independence and security by being more aware of your surroundings.

The community is invited to learn more from the only audiologist in all of Kittitas County who owns and operates a hearing healthcare clinic. Jenci Randall, Doctor of Audiology, and Clinic Manager Klarissa will share the vital aspects of Hearing Healthcare that can improve quality of life, will offer hearing aid tips and tricks, answer questions about tinnitus, hearing aids, and insurance, and offer resources to Veterans.

Hearing Healthcare refers to the interventions to prevent, identify, and treat hearing loss and related ear diseases. It includes rehabilitation and support for people with hearing loss.

About 2 to 3 out of every 1,000 children in the United States are born with a detectable hearing loss in one or both ears. Then gradually as we age hearing loss occurs and affects about 30% of people ages 65–74, and almost 50% of people ages 75 and older in the United States.
Most people with hearing loss don’t have access to interventions. Come and learn about the impacts on the lives of those affected and their families, and how to support them. The presentation and Q&A is FREE, open to all ages (youth with adult), and will be held at the UKC Senior Center, on Tues., February 20th, 4:00pm. For information call 509-674-7530, or email [email protected].
