Local real estate agent Kris Finch offers a few tips on how to ease the stress of buying and selling a home. Taking the few simple steps can help decrease your stress: finding a good realtor, knowing where you want to live and keeping your eyes on the market are ways that can make the process of buying a home less intimidating.
When it comes to finding your dream home, Finch advises people not to put all your eggs in one basket, especially when looking for a home in a competitive market. “Don’t fall in love with something that can’t love you back.” Finch said. Right now the housing market is in great shape, and the only issue Finch is having is finding homes for her clients at the moment.
When selling your home, having a realtor check out your home, getting a good understanding on how pricing works, and making small updates around your home can make a big difference. “It’s important that a buyer can see themselves living in your home.” Finch said. Using neutral colors, and updated furniture can really help. “Paint and carpet are the cheapest things you can do to increase the value of a home.” Finch explained. Making sure your home looks good on the inside and outside and making sure your home can appeal to all buyers are key factors to successfully selling your home.
